[DigitalToday reporter Ji-young Lee (이지영)] Shinhan Bank's food delivery app Ddaenggyeoyo has surpassed 10 million members about 4 years and 8 months after its launch. To mark the milestone, it is also holding events including customer discount coupons and expanded support for affiliated merchants.
Shinhan Bank said on Sept. 14 that Ddaenggyeoyo membership has exceeded 10 million.
Ddaenggyeoyo began its official service in January 2022. It has expanded the service centered on brokerage fees of about 2 percent and consumer discount benefits. It is also working with local governments to link local-currency payments and region-specific discounts.
Shinhan Bank will run a customer participation event for a month from Sept. 14 to mark reaching 10 million members.
Customers who tap a merchant's "Recommend" button in the app and write a text review will receive a 1,000 won discount coupon. Those who upload a photo or video review will receive a 2,000 won discount coupon. Among customers who recommend merchants, it will select 1,000 winners and provide an additional 10,000 won discount coupon.
It will also provide support for merchants. The top 1,000 merchants with the most customer recommendations will be given a "verified badge" in the app and receive 100,000 won in "merchant support funds."
New merchants will have brokerage fees waived until Dec. 31.
Shinhan Bank is also using order and sales data accumulated on Ddaenggyeoyo for financial products. In August, it launched the "Ddaenggyeoyo Excellent Merchant Loan," which reflects merchants' actual sales and business performance in credit assessments and loan limit calculations and supports up to 100 million won.
A Shinhan Bank official said, "With the milestone of reaching 10 million members, we will expand customer benefits and support for small business owners." The official added, "We will develop it into a shared-growth platform that consumers and merchants can use together."
