KT is cooperating with global fabless company Amlogic to build a stable supply chain for key chipsets for media devices.

KT said on Sept. 13 it signed a memorandum of understanding with Amlogic at the media trade show IBC 2026 in Amsterdam to build a stable supply system for key chipsets for media devices.

Amlogic is a global fabless semiconductor company headquartered in Mountain View, California. It has worked with KT in the media sector, including developing the world's first 8K Android TV set-top box with KT.

Under the agreement, the two companies will build a stable supply system for key chipsets used in KT Group media devices and seek ways to improve supply chain operating efficiency.

KT 추진했다. The two companies also plan to continue technical cooperation to upgrade AI functions and services for KT media devices, along with a stable supply of system-on-chip (SoC) solutions.

KT will also run a "KT Global Mutual Growth Pavilion" at IBC 2026 with partners in the media sector. This year, it was selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' support programme for joint overseas expansion by large and small companies and built the pavilion jointly with the ministry and the Large & Small Business & Rural Cooperation Foundation. KOTRA's Amsterdam trade office will also support efforts such as identifying potential buyers and business matching.

Eight companies will take part in the pavilion: Marsys, Oseong Electronics, Energai, Castis, Lunart, Filer, Steelcut and XL8AI. They will present media-related technologies and solutions such as 8K Android TV set-top boxes, on-device AI agents, AI-based video editing and deepfake detection.

KT will also run a KT Global Mutual Growth Pavilion with five partner companies at the optical communications exhibition ECOC 2026, which will be held in Spain from Sept. 21 to 23. The partners are NWC, JCCOM, Wooriro, Huira Photonics and Soltech Infonet.

KT participated in three overseas exhibitions last year, including IBC, MWC and ECOC, with 18 partner companies and achieved export contract results of more than 180 billion won.

Hye-jin Kwon (권혜진), executive director and head of KT's SCM office, said, "We will secure supply chain competitiveness for media device chipsets and support partners' stable business." She added, "We will continue to develop a public-private cooperation model in which large and small companies can enter overseas markets together and grow."
