Korea Post to pilot AI-based logistics AX at mail centers
Korea Post will allow parts of its nationwide mail centers to be used to test private-sector AI-based logistics technology. The Ministry of Science and ICT’s Postal Service signed an agreement with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Integrated Logistics Association to promote an AI transition in logistics. The pilot will include designated tasks such as automated rolltainer transfer and automated sorting of very small parcels, as well as open proposals from companies.

Korea Post, Customs Service to operate second line of drug screening at inland logistics hubs
The Ministry of Science and ICT\'s Postal Service and the Korea Customs Service will begin operating a “second line” of drug screening at inland logistics hubs from April 1 to block narcotics smuggling through international mail. Mail that has undergone a first inspection at airports and ports will be checked again with X-ray reading and package opening inspections at inland mail centers. All international mail will pass through five key hubs nationwide.

Korea Post, customs service to expand second line of drug inspections in international mail
Korea Post and the Korea Customs Service on Tuesday agreed to expand a secondary inspection system aimed at blocking drugs entering South Korea via international mail. The programme, piloted at the Dong Seoul Mail Center, will be rolled out to major regions including Busan and the central area. Under the plan, international mail screened at airports will undergo additional detailed customs inspections at mail centers. Drug detections via international mail have fallen in recent years.
