K-security SaaS platform gains momentum, targets global expansion
South Korean companies are accelerating moves into security-as-a-service (SECaaS), offering security solutions as SaaS platforms as cloud and AI adoption grows. AhnLab is stepping up domestic and overseas efforts, while MonitorLab has long focused on SECaaS and other firms are expected to follow. SK Telecom is working with F5 on AI cloud security, and LG Uplus has acquired MDR specialist Pago Networks. Naver Cloud and others also outlined new security initiatives.

Yurak launches AI-based data classification solution DFAS Arc to target N2SF transition market
AI digital forensics company Yurak said on Sept. 15 it will launch DFAS Arc, an AI-based solution that automatically classifies data into CSO grades. The company said the product analyses meaning and context rather than keywords, provides grounds for decisions and tracks approval and security actions such as encryption, deletion and audit logs. It can also analyse unstructured data including drawings, images, video and audio. Yurak plans to expand from public-sector N2SF demand to manufacturing, finance and healthcare.

PIPC says 2027 budget set at 99.6 billion won for prevention system, AI safety use
South Korea\'s Personal Information Protection Commission said on Thursday its proposed 2027 budget totals 99.6 billion won, up 37 percent from this year. It said the money will focus on key projects including expanding prevention systems, safe use of AX innovation, strengthening public rights and responding to personal data breaches and leaks. The plan includes new funding for pre-emptive prevention systems, cross-border data transfers and support for litigation and investigations.
