Bitcoin has jumped 47 percent recently, but holders have not moved to sell on a large scale, data showed. Bitfinex figures cited by U.Today put bitcoin’s adjusted SOPR, an on-chain measure of whether coins are sold at a profit or loss, at around 1.01, just above breakeven. Bitcoin has rebounded from below $58,000 in early July and is now above $86,000, while its weekly close moved above the 50-week moving average for the first time in 45 weeks.

He cited competition for capital from AI, prospects for large IPOs, remarks on U.S. seizure of Iran-related crypto assets, a shift in Strategy’s role, and renewed quantum-computing risk.

Analysts also cited sustained profit-taking without a sharp price drop. Some measures suggest altcoin trading interest is improving, but 10x Research said momentum has stalled near the 30-day moving average and volumes are declining again.
