Tesla profitability worsens, merger with SpaceX more likely
Tesla has dropped its 2026 mass-production plans for the Cybercab, Tesla Semi and Megapack 3 and removed wording on Optimus mass production from its second-quarter shareholder letter. It said it is pushing to expand battery production, especially 4680 cells, to mass-produce the Cybercab and Semi. Second-quarter revenue rose to $28.2 billion but profitability worsened, and robotaxi service growth also appeared to stall. Elon Musk raised the possibility of a Tesla-SpaceX merger.

Segway teases road-legal next-generation Xyber platform, two new e-bikes
Segway plans to expand its e-bike lineup next year with two new models, including a road-legal e-bike using its next-generation Xyber platform. The products are being developed for release in the third quarter of 2026 and are expected to be introduced by the end of 2026. Segway presented a new vision for electric mobility at CES 2026, unveiling two electric bicycles aimed at everyday riders and an electric dirt bike focused on performance. The Myon is priced at $1,999 and offers up to 80 miles of range, while the cruiser-style Muxi costs $1,699 and includes advanced electronic functions. Both models include the Intelligent Ride System with features such as Apple Find My integration and GPS tracking. The Xaber 300 is priced at $5,299 and is due in spring or summer 2026.
