[DigitalToday reporter Jinju Hong] Segway will expand its e-bike lineup next year. It plans to unveil 2 new products, including a road-going e-bike using the next-generation 'Xyber' platform. The strategy is to move away from its existing high-performance image and broaden the market with models that more consumers can ride.

According to EV outlet Electrek on Tuesday (local time), Segway plans to launch 2 new e-bike models by the end of 2026. The two models are being developed with a target release in the third quarter of 2026, and one of them will use the next-generation Xyber platform.

Segway is expanding its product range after launching the commuter e-bike 'Myon' and the cargo e-bike 'MUXI' this year. Pricing, detailed specifications and launch regions for the new products have not been disclosed.

The most closely watched model is the next-generation Xyber. The existing Xyber has been seen as a high-performance model that straddles the line between an e-bike and a light electric motorcycle. The new Xyber, by contrast, is being developed as a road-going e-bike that allows users to choose Class 1, 2 or 3 modes in line with relevant laws and regulations.

Through this, the plan is to keep the existing Xyber’s futuristic design and performance while improving accessibility by meeting e-bike regulations so it can be ridden legally in more regions.

Segway explained that the next-generation platform focuses on strengthening everyday usability while keeping the Xyber’s distinctive character. It plans to offer performance-focused design, various connectivity features and user-adjustable functions, but has not disclosed detailed specifications.

Heather Henderson (헤더 헨더슨), Segway’s senior brand manager, said, "The next-generation Xyber platform is a model that shows the evolution of Segway e-bike technology," adding, "It will be a road-going e-bike that maintains the strong character of existing products while offering performance, intelligent features and everyday usability."

Segway also said it is developing a completely new e-bike model. It did not disclose specific information such as the product name and concept.

The company plans to further strengthen its push in the U.S. market. George Lee (조지 리), Segway’s director of sales operations, said, "We plan to broaden our U.S. consumer base and expand our e-bike portfolio by adding 2 new models in 2026."

Segway entered the North American market starting with its high-performance e-bikes Xyber and Xafari, and has steadily expanded its lineup this year to include the commuter Myon series and the MUXI short-tail cargo e-bike.

The core of this new-product strategy lies in changing the character of the Xyber. Rather than a product closer to a light electric motorcycle as before, Segway aims to shift to a road-legal model that meets current e-bike regulations, expanding both sales regions and its customer base. Segway plans an official unveiling of the 2 new models in the second half of this year, with sales set to begin from the third quarter of 2026.
