Samsung bets on Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra to defend foldable crown

Samsung Electronics unveiled its Galaxy Z 8 foldable lineup, adding an Ultra model to target the premium foldable phone market and strengthen leadership with agentic AI. The company introduced the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8 at its Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in London. It highlighted new displays, cameras and charging features, along with durability improvements and expanded on-device security and privacy tools.

Shinhan Bank, University of Seoul team up on university operations, student financial support

Shinhan Bank will support the University of Seoul with financial services for university operations and provide financial services for students and staff. The bank said it signed a memorandum of understanding with the university on July 21 at the university in Seoul’s Dongdaemun district. Under the agreement, Shinhan will provide services needed for campus operations and support issuance of student IDs that also function as debit cards.

Evernode CEO says tokenisation is only the start, assets must be managed on XRPL

XRP Ledger is evolving from a network that simply hosts tokenised real-world assets into infrastructure used for financial activity, Evernode CEO Ashish Birla said. He said the next stage of tokenisation is enabling assets to be managed while tokenised, not just issued on a blockchain. Birla cited RWA.xyz data showing XRPL’s RWA value rising from $900 million to $4.4 billion this year. He also pointed to Ripple’s stablecoin RLUSD as an early example of liquidity concentrating on XRPL.
