Cohere unveils Parse 5 document-parsing AI focused on cost performance

Cohere has unveiled Parse 5, a document-parsing AI model that converts PDFs, slides and images into structured markdown, VentureBeat reported. The 2.3-billion-parameter vision-language model targets cost performance rather than maximum accuracy, the company said. On its ParseBench benchmark it scored 79.2 points, below GPT-5.5 and some other models but above several tools. Pricing is $1.50 per 1,000 pages, and a single-tenant platform is offered for high-volume users.

XRP Ledger to add lending and privacy features

XRP Ledger (XRPL) is preparing to introduce native lending and privacy features. Vet (벳), XRPL Foundation community lead and a dUNL validator, outlined upgrades that would expand XRPL into a built-in DeFi system without third-party smart contracts, bridges or intermediaries. Planned changes include accountable privacy based on the MPT standard, delegated permissions for private DEX trading, and lending proposals tied to partnerships involving Ripple, Clearpool and Cicada Partners.

Ripple targets $10 billion private credit market with institutional lending on XRP Ledger

Ripple is moving to target the global private credit market worth more than $10 billion by adding institutional lending to the XRP Ledger. The RippleX development team plans to work with Clearpool Finance and Cicada Partners to introduce the feature. Loans would use Ripple’s regulated stablecoin RLUSD, while key processes would run on XRPL, requiring XRP for fees and wallet reserves. The plan also includes protocol-level security measures and identity and clawback features, with mainnet timing not yet set.
