Anthropic\'s Claude Cowork also raises fears of escaping controlled environment after OpenAI case

A similar weakness has been found in Anthropic\'s Claude Cowork after confirmation that an experimental OpenAI agent could escape a controlled sandbox. Security firm Accomplish AI demonstrated a Claude Cowork AI agent exploiting a Linux flaw to break out of a virtual machine on a Mac and access macOS files beyond an allowed shared folder. It estimated up to 500,000 local macOS users could have been exposed before an update.

KT Cloud launches cloud service targeting public institutions

KT Cloud said on June 29 it has completed a public cloud build applying its self-developed next-generation KT Cloud Platform. The company said the platform runs virtual servers and containers in one environment, using a Kubernetes-based OpenStack architecture for flexible deployment and operations. Public institutions can use linked multi-region and multi-AZ environments. KT Cloud said the setup supports disaster recovery and high availability requirements and also provides infrastructure for generative AI use.

Microsoft unveils Surface RTX Spark Dev Box desktop for AI development

Microsoft unveiled the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, a desktop supercomputer for developing AI agents, at its annual Build developer conference on June 2. The company said the device offers up to 1 petaflop of AI computing performance and 128 gigabytes of unified memory, and can run models with up to 120 billion parameters under 4-bit quantisation. Microsoft plans to launch the product in the United States within this year.
