SK On completes large-scale ESS fire test, meets North American UL 9540A standards
SK On said on Tuesday its energy storage system completed a large-scale fire test evaluation and met assessment items under UL 9540A, a North American ESS fire safety standard. The test replicates real ESS fire conditions to verify whether flames spread to adjacent containers. The company said nearby container battery cells did not go into thermal runaway and internal temperatures stayed within criteria under strengthened requirements.
