L&F signs LFP cathode supply deal with U.S. defense battery firm Coreshell
South Korean cathode materials maker L&F said on Tuesday it signed a mid- to long-term supply contract for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode material with U.S. battery technology company Coreshell Technologies. L&F said it has a non-China LFP supply chain that meets requirements including OBBB and the U.S. National Defense Authorization Act. It said the deal expands LFP applications from energy storage systems to mobility and defense.

AI translates 25 years of news in 100 countries, summarises 3,100-page bill in big data test
The GDELT Project, which collects and analyses global news and social data in real time, is disclosing experiments using AI to process large volumes of news and policy documents. It continuously gathers content in more than 100 languages and updates key datasets about events, relationships and images about every 15 minutes. GDELT also runs a platform translating news written in 65 languages. Recent tests include extracting leadership-change announcements and converting a 3,100-page U.S. bill into an infographic.

MSIT to support localisation of AI CCTV core SoC semiconductor chips
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on March 9 it will support research and development to localise a system-on-chip (SoC), a key semiconductor component that serves as the \'brain\' of AI CCTV. The ministry, working with the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation, plans a new SoC task reflecting trends such as high-performance video processing and built-in security, investing 4.5 billion won from 2026 to 2029.
