TypeSafeAI CEO says 25% of Fortune 500 companies use Jev, confident against copycat models
The Wall Street Journal reported that Jev, an AI model launched three weeks ago in Silicon Valley, is drawing attention as an alternative to large language models. Startup TypeSafeAI unveiled Jev on Sept. 15. It classifies inputs into preset outputs such as yes or no, scores or list answers rather than generating text. Major tech firms join race for decision AI models after Jev debut
The market for decision-focused AI models has shifted into a multi-player race after TypesafeAI, founded by former OpenAI employee Diogo Almeida, unveiled Jev in September. Unlike text-generating large language models, Jev returns decisions and probabilities from preset choices. OpenAI introduced a limited Decisions API, while AWS open-sourced Strands Decider 2B. Cloudflare launched Clef and Clef Flash, trained on Qwen models, and priced Clef at $0.24 per 1 million tokens.

TypesafeAI seeks $1 billion funding at $10 billion valuation
AI startup TypesafeAI is seeking to raise $1 billion, The Information reported on Sept. 24. Some investors have made proposals valuing the company at more than $10 billion, the report said, though discussions are at an early stage and terms could change. TypesafeAI said it raised $40 million last week at a $200 million valuation, PitchBook said. The company is developing a new AI model called Jev.
