Japan\'s materials grip strengthens in 2-nanometre era
Japan is regaining prominence in key semiconductor materials as the chip industry enters the 2-nanometre era, with demand rising for EUV photoresists and blank masks. Japanese firms control more than 90 percent of the EUV photoresist market and lead in blank masks, giving them growing pricing power. South Korea is working to develop domestic alternatives, but the industry says dependence on Japanese materials persists in High-NA EUV processes.
