Shinhan Investment expands STO business, fractional investing account management to four platforms
Shinhan Investment Corp has partnered with art fractional investment firm Together Art to expand its account management service for fractional investment platforms to four. It will provide Together Art users with securities account opening and linkage services needed to subscribe to fractional investment products. Shinhan Investment will also act as an account management institution, keeping investors’ deposits in separate accounts to distinguish them from operators’ funds.

Shinhan Investment signs MOU with NXT and seven fractional investment firms
Shinhan Investment & Securities said on Wednesday it signed an MOU with Nextrade and seven fractional investment firms as the Nextrade (NXT) consortium secured preliminary approval for an over-the-counter fractional investment exchange. The agreement aims to build a value chain covering issuance, distribution and settlement for a planned distribution market. The nine participating companies also plan joint reviews of business models, responses to legal and institutional changes, and joint promotion.

STO over-the-counter exchange stalls as Financial Services Commission delays review amid fairness row
A decision on preliminary licences for an over-the-counter exchange dedicated to fractional investment and tokenised securities has been delayed after Lucentblock raised fairness concerns and filed a complaint with the Fair Trade Commission. The Financial Services Commission did not table the agenda at its regular meeting. Reportedly, two consortia had been picked as preliminary licence candidates. Lawmakers and startup groups criticised the process, while regulators and the consortia denied wrongdoing.
