AI data-labeling company Handshake acquires Cleanlab

AI data-labeling startup Handshake has acquired Cleanlab, a company that developed software to improve the quality of data generated by human labelers, TechCrunch reported on Jan. 28 local time. TechCrunch said the acquisition is aimed at securing talent. Handshake said it has hired 9 key Cleanlab staff into its research organization, including the company’s MIT-trained co-founders.

Cloud infrastructure startup Railway raises $100 million in Series B funding

Cloud infrastructure startup Railway has raised $100 million in a Series B funding round, SiliconANGLE reported on Jan. 23. TQ Ventures led the round with participation from FPV Ventures, Redpoint and Unusual Ventures. Railway aims to help developers deploy applications quickly without complex cloud configuration. It bills companies only for the resources they use, and says early adopters reported development speeds 10 times faster.
