Shinsegae chairman Chung Yong-jin attends Foundry School launch ceremony

Shinsegae Group said its Chairman Chung Yong-jin attended the launch ceremony of Foundry School in Washington on Sept. 3 local time. The U.S. State Department-led project aims to foster future talent for manufacturing and advanced industries through industry-academia cooperation. U.S. officials and ReflectionAI’s CEO highlighted Shinsegae’s partnership with ReflectionAI. Shinsegae said it is working on establishing a joint venture and selecting a site for a large AI data centre project in South Korea.

South Korea, U.S. expand cooperation in nuclear, high-energy fields, set up bilateral quantum panel

South Korea and the United States will expand cooperation in nuclear and high-energy physics, including joint research using major facilities, AI and quantum computing, South Korea\'s science ministry said. The two countries signed a statement of intent and plan to set up a bilateral quantum joint cooperation committee to support implementation. South Korea also reviewed progress on a technology prosperity memorandum and attended the opening of a Boston hub to support commercialisation of advanced bio technologies.

Ripple targets $10 billion private credit market with institutional lending on XRP Ledger

Ripple is moving to target the global private credit market worth more than $10 billion by adding institutional lending to the XRP Ledger. The RippleX development team plans to work with Clearpool Finance and Cicada Partners to introduce the feature. Loans would use Ripple’s regulated stablecoin RLUSD, while key processes would run on XRPL, requiring XRP for fees and wallet reserves. The plan also includes protocol-level security measures and identity and clawback features, with mainnet timing not yet set.
