China succeeds in wind power test at 4,000 metres with helium airship
China has successfully tested a helium airship that generated electricity at an altitude of 4,000 metres and returned to the ground. IT outlet TechRadar said the trial was introduced as the world’s first and that the craft was similar in length to a Boeing 747. The S4000 produces power using turbines and sends electricity to a ground base through a tether. CCTV said it completed ascent, generation and return in one test cycle.
