Ripple grows but XRP lags: Why token demand is not keeping up
A commentator said XRP\'s key challenge is building a structure in which growth of the XRP Ledger translates into actual demand for the XRP token, rather than simply expanding use cases. Aaron Arnold, founder of crypto YouTube channel Altcoin Daily, said in a podcast that the ledger\'s growth has not sufficiently fed into XRP\'s token value. He also urged separating assessments of Ripple the company from the XRP token.

He made the remarks on X after reactions to his views. The comments came as XRP slipped back below $1, trading around $0.9992. CoinGecko data put XRP 72.6 percent below its all-time high of $3.65 set on July 17, 2025.

Ripple mints 10 million more RLUSD as institutional demand grows
Ripple minted an additional 10 million RLUSD stablecoins on the XRP Ledger, blockchain media outlet U.Today reported on Aug. 17. The issuance was processed from the RLUSD issuer account and finalised on the ledger the same day, with a fee of 0.000405 XRP, according to XRPScan. RLUSD circulation stands at 1.711 billion tokens, CoinGecko data showed, with about $58 million in 24-hour volume.
