Utexo to issue USDT on bitcoin network

Utexo, backed by Tether, will issue USDT on the bitcoin network. CoinDesk reported that Utexo co-founder Viktor Ignatyuk (빅토르 이그나티우크) said the company has secured a commercial licence to issue USDT on bitcoin. Utexo plans to provide APIs, software development kits and cloud infrastructure to exchanges, wallet providers and payment service companies. Built on the RGB protocol and the bitcoin UTXO model, it will keep most transaction data off-chain and focus on private transfers, direct bitcoin-USDT swaps and bitcoin-collateralised loans.

Tether seeks Bitcoin-native USDT issuance using RGB protocol

Tether is pushing to issue its dollar-pegged stablecoin USDT natively on Bitcoin using the RGB protocol, with a launch possibly this month and exchanges and wallets working on integration. The project uses RGB v0.11.1 developed by UTEXO, which will handle issuance and distribution with Tether. Supporters say linking RGB with the Lightning Network can enable fast transfers while using Bitcoin security, but analysts warn Tron’s entrenched payment infrastructure and liquidity could make competition difficult.
