Nvidia to invest $3.5 billion in MediaTek, reshaping AI chip market
Nvidia has bought $3.5 billion worth of convertible bonds issued by Taiwan chipmaker MediaTek, expanding cooperation on AI semiconductors. MediaTek plans to adopt Nvidia\'s NVLink Fusion to link customised AI chips to Nvidia-based data centres. The companies said they will broaden collaboration in AI infrastructure, local AI computing and automotive. MediaTek is targeting $2.0 billion in revenue from its data-centre chip design business this year.

Samsung Electronics begins mass production of PM1763 high-speed SSD for AI servers
Samsung Electronics has begun mass production of its PCIe 6.0 enterprise SSD, the PM1763, for AI server infrastructure. The company said the drive uses ninth-generation V-NAND and a 4-nanometre controller to improve performance and power efficiency. It will be offered in 4TB, 8TB and 16TB versions, with the 16TB model delivering sequential read and write speeds of up to 28,400 MB per second and 21,900 MB per second.

Nvidia AI CPU \'Vera\' posts first benchmark results, close to AMD EPYC
Nvidia\'s next-generation AI-focused CPU, Vera, delivered performance close to AMD\'s top-end EPYC lineup in public benchmarks, and led in some areas. Tests cited by online outlet Gigazine showed strong single-socket results and near dual-socket flagship EPYC performance in some code compilation tasks. The benchmarks were based on measurements by Linux-focused outlet Phoronix. Vera uses Nvidia-designed Olympus cores, supports FP8 and PCIe 6 and is aimed at data centres.
