KakaoBank \'Our Child\' account and savings users top 800,000

KakaoBank said on Tuesday that cumulative users of its deposit products for minors, the \'Our Child Account\' and \'Our Child Savings\', have exceeded 800,000 within 10 months of launch. Cumulative subscribed accounts for the \'Our Child Account\' topped 410,000. In the first half of this year, 210,000 of about 1 million new customers signed up for the product, accounting for about 21 percent.

KakaoBank said cumulative users of its parent-child deposit products, the \'Our Child Account\' and \'Our Child Savings\', surpassed 500,000 four months after launch. Users reached 100,000 in the first month and 300,000 in three months. Parents opening accounts were mainly in their 30s or younger and in their 40s. A survey found 7 in 10 customers had mothers managing the accounts. Children ranged from infants to middle-school students.
