Hancom to step up response to U.S., Europe PDF accessibility rules
Hancom said on Wednesday it has released as open source an AI function that automatically generates and inserts accessibility tags for PDF documents. The company distributed the feature by building it into OpenDataLoader PDF. It said the move allows companies and public institutions to convert large volumes of PDFs into accessible documents without additional costs or per-document charges, as demand rises amid U.S., European and South Korean accessibility regulations.

Hancom OpenDataLoader PDF v2.0 tops GitHub trending overall
Hancom said its open-source PDF data extraction project, OpenDataLoader PDF v2.0, ranked No. 1 on GitHub’s Trending list across all programming languages as of March 20 and received a trending badge. The company said the project added more than 1,800 GitHub stars on March 21, taking total stars above 7,000 and forks above 500. Hancom said v2.0 runs locally with a hybrid engine and includes four AI add-ons.

Hancom unveils open-source PDF data extraction tool OpenDataLoader v2.0
Hancom unveiled OpenDataLoader PDF v2.0, an open-source PDF data extraction tool it said achieved top benchmark performance. The release combines AI and direct extraction in a hybrid engine and can be used for free in a local environment to avoid data leakage to external servers. It includes four free AI add-ons for OCR, table extraction, formula extraction and chart analysis. Hancom also published benchmark data and reproducible code on GitHub and switched the licence to Apache 2.0.
