PIPC to take third-round applications for prior consultations for data portability agents
South Korea\'s Personal Information Protection Commission will accept third-round applications from Aug. 11 to 31 for support in prior consultations for agents that can request personal data transfers on behalf of individuals. The commission said the round aims to identify additional demand after pilot operations found scraping needs across sectors. Eligible applicants include small businesses and firms without mydata qualifications. The commission plans consultations to support safer transitions from scraping and allow temporary continuation during talks.

KakaoPay has launched a beta version of its personalised AI financial agent, \'AI Coach\', which analyses users\' spending records based on MyData to help manage financial habits. The service offers budget-based spending management, saving challenges, transaction analysis across multiple financial institutions, and guidance on government subsidies and support programmes users can apply for. Users can also choose between two coaching styles, with guidance tailored to the selected preference.

KakaoPay joins NH NongHyup Bank alternative credit scoring model development
KakaoPay will join a NH NongHyup Bank-led consortium to develop an alternative credit scoring model using MyData and payment and remittance information. The companies signed a multilateral memorandum of understanding on July 15 at NH NongHyup Bank\'s new building in Seoul, KakaoPay said on Wednesday. Participants will combine non-financial data, credit scoring modelling capabilities and AI technology to build a joint model for use in financial products.
