U.S. SEC, CFTC start \'Project Crypto\' as possible alternative to Clarity Act
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is reviewing a new draft rule on crypto offerings and sales, drawing attention as a potential administrative alternative if the Senate-stalled Clarity Act fails to advance. Investor David Naeiji said the SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission are already pushing parts of market structure through joint rulemaking under Project Crypto. The agenda lists a proposal stage, but no formal draft had been released as of July 29.
