Cardano decentralisation metric hits record high, raising questions over ADA rebound
Cardano posted a record high in its Nakamoto coefficient, a measure of network decentralisation, as the metric rose to 16, according to U.Today. The figure was compiled by Chainspect and shared by stake pool operator Rick McCracken. ADA also rebounded, reaching $0.199 and posting a 18.17 percent weekly gain. Santiment said the rally stood out in volatile altcoins, though the number of wallets holding balances fell by 7,070 from two months earlier.

Cardano posts top weekly gain among top 100 crypto assets as whale buying and development progress draw focus
Cardano has risen 25.03 percent over the past seven days, the biggest weekly gain among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market value. ADA briefly climbed to $0.1956 on Aug. 4, according to The Crypto Basic. Santiment highlighted a drop in wallets with balances, while saying large investors increased accumulation. Whale wallets bought 240 million ADA in five days, lifting holdings to 14.5 billion ADA. Santiment also cited progress in testnet and scaling work.

Cardano to transfer control of core infrastructure to external teams
Cardano developer Input Output will transfer control of key blockchain infrastructure to external teams as part of efforts to decentralise the network. The handover covers the Haskell node, Plutus smart-contract platform, Daedalus wallet, Hydra scaling technology and developer relations. SevenLabs and TeraGon will take on parts of development, with the transition starting in August and running through 2027. The announcement comes as Cardano faces weak network activity and a sharp drop in ADA.
