Cloudflare to cut over 1,100 jobs citing AI, not a cost-cutting move
Cloudflare will cut more than 1,100 jobs worldwide, The Register reported on May 8, citing the company’s AI adoption. CEO Matthew Prince and President and COO Michelle Zatlyn told staff in an email that the company decided to reduce its global workforce by over 1,100. They said AI usage rose more than 600 percent in the past three months. Prince said some roles will not be needed in the future and the move is not aimed at cutting costs.
