MOEX to start XRP futures trading, expanding crypto derivatives

Russia\'s Moscow Exchange (MOEX) will expand trading in cryptocurrency-linked derivatives by starting futures tied to indices for XRP, bitcoin, ether, solana and tron from Sept. 22. The contracts are daily-settled cash futures with an automatic rolling structure. They are not physically delivered, and settlements are made in roubles though contract values are shown in U.S. dollars. MOEX said the products are available only to qualified investors.

Moscow Exchange (MOEX), Russia\'s largest bourse, will launch perpetual futures linked to bitcoin and ether in September. The move comes ahead of Russia\'s introduction next month of new laws on digital assets and as the country speeds up the institutionalisation of crypto derivatives. MOEX plans to expand coin-based products to as many as 10. New rules taking effect on Sept. 1 broaden investor access, while limiting retail investment to 300,000 roubles a year per broker.
