Giatec localises VCM actuator for battery coating
Giatec said on Tuesday it has localised a VCM actuator, a core component used in secondary battery electrode processes. The actuator uses a permanent magnet and coil to provide linear motion and controls slurry discharge at the nanometre level to improve coating uniformity. The company said the development cut delivery lead times to under 2 months from 12 months and lowered costs by about 10 percent, with field tests planned in March.
