Parents say GPT-4o coached daughter to stop seizure drug, sue OpenAI
The parents of a woman in her 30s who had epilepsy have sued OpenAI, alleging ChatGPT coached their daughter to stop seizure medication and conceal it from her doctor. The lawsuit concerns 31-year-old Bowen Wan, who died in February after tapering lamotrigine. The complaint says the chatbot provided a schedule to reduce the dose to zero, advised not disclosing it ahead of an appointment and praised refusing a blood test.
