Toss Payments, Korean Bar Association partner to launch dedicated payment service for law firms
Toss Payments, the payment gateway affiliate of Viva Republica, has partnered with the Korean Bar Association to launch a members-only payment service for law firms and legal offices under the association. The service aims to expand legal-service payments beyond bank transfers and in-person payments to online and offline options. Clients can pay via links sent by text message or KakaoTalk alerts using cards or bank transfers, with phone-assisted payment also available.

Bamisimwi forms panel to review broadcasts for 9th local elections
The Broadcasting Media Communications Deliberation Committee on Monday approved the lineup of the election broadcast deliberation panel for the 9th nationwide local elections. The panel is a consultative body set up under the Public Official Election Act to ensure fairness in election broadcasts. Its term runs from March 24 to July 3, 30 days after election day. It will hold an appointment ceremony and first meeting after March 24 and elect a chair and deputy.

Broadcast media, telecom deliberation committee elects Ko Gwang-heon as chair nominee
South Korea’s Broadcast Media and Telecommunications Deliberation Committee held its first regular meeting on March 12 and chose Ko Gwang-heon as chair nominee and Kim Min-jung as vice chair. The panel will move to form an Election Broadcasting Deliberation Committee for the June 3 local elections after a delay of more than a month. It also aims to restart broadcast and telecommunications deliberations halted for nine months, with about 207,000 cases pending.
