Productive finance plan expanded to 1,560 trillion won; FSC to prepare additional liability exemption measures
South Korea\'s government and financial sector will expand their productive finance supply plan for the next five years to 1,560 trillion won, up 310 trillion won from 1,250 trillion won. The Financial Services Commission also plans additional liability exemption measures to support more active investment and lending by financial companies. KT’s early investment in AI startup Upstage is drawing renewed attention as Upstage’s valuation rises. KT invested 10 billion won in October 2023 to acquire a 2.84 percent stake. KB Kookmin Bank commits 500 billion won to KB Kookmin Growth Infrastructure Fund
KB Kookmin Bank said on Wednesday it signed an agreement to commit 500 billion won to the 1 trillion won KB Kookmin Growth Infrastructure Fund. The blind fund, established and managed by KB Asset Management, will be financed entirely with KB Financial Group funds, with KB Insurance and KB Life also participating. It adopts a perpetual closed-end structure and plans to invest in digital, energy, renewable transition and regional SOC projects.
