Moonshot AI in talks with U.S. cloud big three on revenue sharing for Kimi K3 model
Moonshot AI is in revenue-sharing talks with Microsoft, Amazon and Google, Reuters reported on Aug. 26. The talks would allow the U.S. cloud firms to host Moonshot AI\'s large model Kimi K3. Sources said Moonshot AI is seeking up to 30 percent of K3-related service revenue. The negotiations are at an early stage and key issues remain unresolved, including revenue-sharing terms, data access and audits of token usage.

Lower-cost AI models are increasingly influencing corporate spending on high-end offerings from Anthropic and OpenAI, a Financial Times report said, citing Ramp’s analysis of spending data from 70,000 companies. Anthropic’s top-tier Fable 5 accounted for about 11 percent of spending on Anthropic tools more than two months after launch. Analysts cited price and sufficient performance of older models. The shift may affect frontier AI developers investing billions of dollars in larger models.
