MSIT steps up support for deep tech firms in R&D zones to expand globally
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Innopolis Foundation are stepping up support for deep tech companies in research and development zones seeking to expand overseas. They are holding events on May 26 and 28 to create cooperation opportunities with global pharmaceutical companies and investors under the Global Boost-up Project. The ministry said it will strengthen global open innovation and overseas investment links to support technology transfers and fundraising outcomes.

South Korea, France mark 140 years of ties with stronger alliance in AI and quantum
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said it held the ninth Korea-France Joint Committee on Science and Technology with France\'s higher education, research and space ministry in Seoul on Thursday. The meeting, held on the 140th anniversary of diplomatic ties and during a French presidential visit, reviewed policy cooperation and discussed expanding collaboration in AI, quantum and basic science. Korean institutions signed MOUs with France\'s CNRS, and KAIST and Quandela agreed to deepen quantum manufacturing cooperation.

MSIT to step up support for deep tech startups with new R&D special zone fund
South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Innopolis Foundation said on Feb. 26 they will create a new R&D Special Zone Fund to support the creation and growth of deep tech companies in R&D special zones. They will first launch a 20 billion won fund in 2026 focused on early-stage deep tech startups and extend fund operations to 10 to 12 years. From 2027, they plan to form a 100 billion won scale-up fund.
