MSIT unveils deep tech startup activation strategy, holds results sharing event
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Innopolis Foundation held the 2026 Deep Tech Results Exchange on Sunday at Hotel ICC in Daejeon, sharing startup and commercialisation results created in research and development zones. The ministry unveiled a deep tech startup activation strategy, citing tasks such as easing researchers\' startup burdens, building demonstration infrastructure to convert technology into market value and fostering specialist investment and incubation institutions. Seoul Hongneung and the small strong special zones in Pohang, Incheon Seo-gu and Jinju received the top “excellent” rating in last year’s annual assessment, the science ministry and a foundation said. The evaluation covered 14 zones and assessed project performance, member satisfaction and local government contributions. Hongneung led in corporate investment attraction, while Pohang backed materials firms, Incheon expanded environmental networks and Jinju fostered aerospace companies and supply results.

They are holding events on May 26 and 28 to create cooperation opportunities with global pharmaceutical companies and investors under the Global Boost-up Project. The ministry said it will strengthen global open innovation and overseas investment links to support technology transfers and fundraising outcomes.
