Arcturus raises $8 million seed for carbon nano conductor to cut grid power losses
U.S. advanced materials startup Arcturus has raised $8 million in seed funding for a next-generation conductor technology aimed at reducing energy losses on power grids. The company is developing a laser process to inject carbon nano material into copper and aluminium to cut heat generation and transmit more power. Arcturus says its material can reduce grid energy lost as heat by up to half while keeping wire size unchanged.
