South Korea to inspect security at 172 private critical ICT facilities including major telcos
South Korea will carry out security inspections of about 172 private-sector critical information and communications infrastructure facilities operated by 111 institutions, government authorities said on Tuesday. The Ministry of Science and ICT will focus on security vulnerabilities and management of systems exposed to hacking risks, including servers and webpages connected to the external internet. The step follows the president’s instruction to strengthen checks and response systems for national core information systems.
