Hana Financial to test stablecoin card payment and merchant settlement technology with Dunamu
Hana Financial Group is working with Dunamu to test card payments and merchant settlement technology using stablecoins. The project tests whether customers can pay with various stablecoins held in an Upbit wallet and whether merchant settlement cycles can be shortened in real time. Hana Card is taking part. The companies plan to apply the technology to an actual payment service once relevant制度 are in place.

Dunamu expands GASOK Web3 developer scouting programme
Dunamu said it will expand efforts to find developers and startup teams to work in its GIWA Web3 infrastructure ecosystem. The Upbit operator said it is accepting additional applications for its GASOK programme for builders, developers and founders until the end of this month. Selected participants will receive free infrastructure needed for development and operations, as well as funding support and networking opportunities. Top teams can receive up to $100,000.

Exchanges push to cut fee reliance as digital asset results freeze
South Korean digital asset exchanges are accelerating efforts to diversify revenue as trading values fall and profitability weakens. The five biggest won-market exchanges logged $27.8 billion in trading from May 1 to 17, down from earlier months. Dunamu and Bithumb reported sharp first-quarter declines in revenue and operating profit, with trading fees accounting for nearly all sales. Exchanges are expanding partnerships, overseas ventures and Web3 infrastructure, while facing regulatory uncertainty.
