Uphold nears launch of Earn on XRP yield service targeting 1.62 billion XRP

U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Uphold is nearing the launch of a yield service for XRP holders called Earn on XRP, blockchain outlet U.Today reported on Thursday. Chief Product Officer Paul Underwood said development is in its final stage and details will be released within weeks. Because the XRP Ledger does not support native staking, Uphold is considering DeFi lending protocols or partner networks. Underwood also said the company is pursuing a New York BitLicense.

3G set to fade as SKT halts new sign-ups and KT prepares to follow

South Korea’s 3G mobile service is entering an exit phase after SK Telecom halted new sign-ups and KT began preparing to do the same. The move blocks new users but does not shut down the 3G network, which will continue operating for existing subscribers. A full shutdown requires carriers to submit user-protection plans to the Ministry of Science and ICT and receive approval. 3G phone lines stand at 328,124, about 0.6 percent of total.

XRP holders can trade options and perpetual futures without selling as FXRP collateral expands

XRP holders can use FXRP on Flare as collateral to trade options and perpetual futures on decentralised exchange Derive, without going through a centralised exchange. Flare said Derive began supporting FXRP as collateral for XRP options and perpetual futures. Derive’s XRP options settle in USDC, not XRP, requiring option sellers to maintain sufficient USDC and margin to avoid liquidation. FXRP has also been approved as collateral in Sentora’s RLUSD main vault on Morpho.
