Combat drones shift from lithium-ion batteries to hydrogen fuel cells
The nature of warfare is changing as drones emerge as key weapons, drawing attention to hydrogen fuel cells as a new power source. Cleantechnica reported that as wars shift toward drone-centered operations, fuel cells are rising as power for military robots and unmanned aerial vehicles. Ukraine has broadly deployed drones and aims to replace 30 percent of infantry by 2026, rising to 80 percent later. The United States and Canadian companies are also testing and developing hydrogen-based systems.
