Korean game firms reshape leadership as mobile growth formula fades
Major South Korean game companies reshuffled top management and key organisations in the first half of this year, moving in different ways but with similar aims. The changes seek to reduce reliance on a mobile massively multiplayer online role-playing game growth formula and shift business structures toward global markets, PC and console games, and in-house intellectual property. Nexon and Neowiz put development and global capabilities forward, Krafton reshaped publishing leadership, and Kakao Games and Wemade moved amid governance changes.

JobPlanet announces 2026 awards, names 31 best companies to work for
JobPlanet, a career platform operated by AI and data-based HR tech platform Worksphere, said on March 10 it held the 2026 JobPlanet Awards and announced 31 companies ranked in the top 0.01 percent of workplaces among 470,000 firms nationwide. The awards, introduced last year, aim to provide reliable indicators for job seekers. Categories were expanded to four: pay and benefits, work-life balance, career growth and recruitment experience.

Nexon appoints Patrick Soderlund as executive chairman to revamp global development strategy
Nexon said on Thursday it appointed Patrick Soderlund as executive chairman with immediate effect following a board resolution. Soderlund, founder and CEO of Embark Studios, previously held senior roles at Electronic Arts and served as CEO of Digital Illusions CE. Nexon said he will oversee long-term strategy, creative direction and global game development while working closely with CEO Lee Jung-heon. He will keep his Embark CEO role.
