Nvidia unveils Jetson Orin Nano 2 robotics computer, boosting edge AI adoption
Nvidia on Aug. 25 unveiled the Jetson Orin Nano 2, a low-cost edge AI computer for robotics. The company said it is designed to run AI and frontier-class models inside robots and drones. Performance doubles from the prior generation, with 8 gigabytes of memory and an 8-core CPU, while power consumption falls 40 percent in 15-watt mode. Nvidia said several companies are working to apply it to smart robotics.

Nvidia, Doosan Group expand cooperation across robots and AI data centres
Nvidia and South Korea\'s Doosan Group have expanded cooperation from robots to power and materials for AI data centres. Doosan said on June 8 that four affiliates, including Doosan Robotics, Doosan Bobcat, Doosan Enerbility and Doosan Electronics BG, will broaden collaboration with Nvidia in physical AI, robotics and AI factory infrastructure. The group plans to expand integration with Nvidia platforms step by step based on results at each unit.

Autonomous driving is being commercialised more quickly on farms, mines and construction sites than on public roads, where regulation and safety concerns slow progress. In these controlled environments, fewer pedestrians and unexpected variables make deployment easier. John Deere has begun distributing fully autonomous tractors, and Caterpillar says its autonomous mining trucks are 30 percent more productive. South Korean companies are also accelerating adoption with certified autonomous farm machinery and AI-based controls for construction equipment.
