Japan crypto rules set for major overhaul as FSA says digital finance policy goals met

Japan\'s Financial Services Agency has rated its digital finance policy as having met its goals, citing changes including an overhaul of cryptocurrency regulation and an expansion of stablecoin use. In a performance review covering July 2025 to June 2026, the agency gave its top grade to a category focused on responding strategically to societal changes driven by digitalisation. It highlighted shifting crypto oversight into a financial instruments framework and pursuing tax revisions.

Welcome Financial, Soongsil University to launch digital finance AI department for employee master\'s programme

Welcome Financial Group will run a master’s programme with Soongsil University to strengthen employees’ expertise in finance and artificial intelligence. Welcome Financial said on Sept. 7 it will establish a contract department, the Department of Digital Finance AI, in Soongsil University’s graduate school and begin operating it this month. The curriculum focuses on applying AI in financial workplaces, including generative AI practice, data-driven decisions, LLM development and AI governance.
