AM radio mandate in new cars possible after U.S. House passes bill
The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a bill that would require AM radio to be included as standard equipment in new vehicles. If enacted, automakers would have to provide AM radio without charging consumers extra. The measure would direct the Department of Transportation to draft rules mandating AM radio in new cars, citing its role in delivering emergency information during power outages or network disruptions.
