Legal AI startup Harvey launched an in-house model based on Moonshot AI’s open-weight Kimi K3 after its gross margin turned sharply negative. Healthcare, customer support, fintech, coding and design startups are also building or considering custom models.

Decagon AI raises $250 million at $4.5 billion valuation
Decagon AI raised $250 million in Series D funding at a valuation of $4.5 billion, SiliconANGLE reported on Jan. 28. The round was led by Coatue Management and Index Ventures, with participation from a16z, Accel Partners and Bain Capital, among others. Founded in 2023, Decagon AI focuses on improving customer experience for businesses through an AI-based concierge platform that combines large language models and machine learning.
