Ecopro BM posts 41 billion won Q4 operating profit, returns to profit

Ecopro BM says it returned to profitability on gains from an equity investment in an Indonesia smelter and a recovery in European electric vehicle cathode material sales. It reported fourth-quarter revenue of 499.2 billion won and operating profit of 41.0 billion won. Full-year revenue was 2.53 trillion won and operating profit was 142.8 billion won. It plans to start commercial production at its Hungary plant in the first half.

Ecopro establishes first European sales subsidiary in Germany

Ecopro has established its first European sales subsidiary, setting it up in Germany and appointing Kimbal Virdi as head of the entity, the company said on Jan. 28. It aims to speed up its push into Europe’s electric vehicle and battery markets after building a production base in Hungary. The subsidiary will serve as a European business hub to identify new opportunities, respond to customers in real time and improve order competitiveness.
