Cycles develops blockchain-based multilateral settlement protocol, launches stablecoin

Crypto startup Cycles, founded by Cosmos co-founder Ethan Buchman, has raised $6.4 million in funding. Blockchain Ventures led the round, with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Compound VC, Primitive Ventures and angel investors. Cycles said its total funding has risen to $8.7 million. The company is developing a blockchain-based settlement protocol that nets payments among multiple parties to minimise actual fund movements. It also plans to launch a stablecoin, Cycles Pay, linked to its settlement engine.

The 10,000 bitcoins spent on two pizzas in 2010 have grown to a value well above 1 trillion won, drawing renewed attention to changes in bitcoin’s purchasing power and supply. Binance marked Bitcoin Pizza Day by outlining reduced new supply through halving cycles, the rising share of already-mined coins and examples of today’s purchasing power across major cities. It also cited growing institutional holdings, including listed companies, ETFs and governments.

Ganfeng starts initial production of 500 Wh/kg solid-state lithium metal battery

China\'s Ganfeng Lithium, the world\'s largest lithium metal producer, has started small-scale production of a 500 Wh/kg lithium metal all-solid-state battery, it said. The company disclosed the start of production of a 10Ah cell in an investor update and described it as a world-first-level technology. Ganfeng also presented progress on silicon-based solid-state batteries and unveiled new anode and cathode technologies, along with safety and durability test results.
