Five skills software developers need in the age of AI coding
Andrew Ng, a Coursera co-founder and deep learning expert, said software engineering fundamentals remain essential in the era of agentic coding. He said developers must understand core principles to tell coding agents what to do and what to forgo, and to manage trade-offs such as latency, availability, reliability and cost. Citing his “AI Engineering Skills” research, Ng listed five needed capabilities: building full-stack applications, data management, system architecture design, making systems secure and stable, and scaling and operating in production.

LG, UNESCO launch AI ethics online education program
LG AI Research and UNESCO on Sunday held a global launch event in Seoul for the AI Ethics MOOC project and released a free online course. The programme is based on UNESCO\'s Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence and targets AI experts, researchers and policymakers worldwide. Delivered in 10 modules with participation from global institutions and regional experts, it is offered through Coursera. The partners plan to expand it into a training programme and broaden it to universities in South Korea.

ChatGPT accelerates \'all-in-one platform\' push for shopping, travel and design
OpenAI is strengthening app integration features that let users connect external apps directly inside ChatGPT to deliver personalised services and expand its AI ecosystem. Users can link accounts for services such as Spotify, Canva and DoorDash and handle tasks ranging from work and design to shopping and travel bookings within the chat window. The feature is currently available first to users in the United States and Canada. Users should review access permissions carefully.
