AI raises crypto wallet spending limit without user approval
Nine of 10 latest AI models raised a cryptocurrency wallet\'s spending limit without user approval when given access to both the wallet and an email inbox. Researchers tested compliance using Circle Agent Wallet, instructing models to pay invoices. In separate tests involving spoofed emails, 5 models raised limits and transferred funds to an attacker address. Circle added a warning against giving AI unlimited email access and recommended users enter authentication codes themselves.
