Ireland to exclude cryptocurrencies from tax-incentivised investment account from 2027
Ireland will exclude cryptocurrencies from a new investment account that will be available to all adults from 2027, keeping the tax-incentivised product focused on traditional financial instruments. The retail investment tax roadmap classifies crypto, alongside derivatives, as high-risk and highly complex, and also excludes interest-bearing cash. The account will be limited to one per eligible resident adult with a PPS number, with annual contribution caps. Tax parameters will be set on Oct. 6.
