OKX Europe CEO says 80 percent of unlicensed MiCA exchanges to exit after July 1

OKX Europe CEO Erald Ghoos warned that 80 percent of crypto exchanges that are not authorised under the EU’s MiCA regime will not survive. The European Securities and Markets Authority will ban unauthorised firms from serving EU customers from July 1. Ghoos said 60 percent of European crypto users rely on platforms without MiCA authorisation and most of them have no way to obtain approval.

Spain regulator says no extension for crypto firms failing to comply with MiCA

Crypto exchanges that have not obtained authorisation by July 1 under the European Union\'s MiCA framework will be subject to the rules with no exceptions or deadline extensions, Spain\'s securities market regulator said. The move applies to exchanges serving EU users, including Binance, which has withdrawn an application filed with Greece\'s capital market regulator and, as of June 26, had not secured approval from any other EU member state regulator.
