SK Shieldus EQST competes at DEF CON 34, ranks fifth in AI CTF
SK Shieldus said on Sunday its white-hat hacker group EQST ranked fifth out of more than 200 teams in a Capture The Flag competition held at the AI Village during the DEF CON 34 hacking and security conference in Las Vegas. The company said EQST was the only participating team from South Korea to finish in the top five. EQST also took part in the DEF CON 34 CTF finals.

SK Shieldus white-hacker group EQST finishes runner-up at CODEGATE 2026
SK Shieldus said on July 27 its white-hacker group EQST finished runner-up in the general CTF division at CODEGATE 2026, an international hacking defence contest hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT. The event was held on July 23 and 24 at COEX in Seoul. Twenty teams from eight countries competed for 24 hours across fields including AI, web, systems, reversing, cryptography and blockchain.

South Korea science ministry, Cisco to train 200 young cybersecurity talents
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said it will run a five-week cybersecurity talent development program with global network and security company Cisco through July 31. The Virtual Internship Program (VIP) 2026 targets top trainees from the ministry\'s information security workforce initiative. The number of participants increased to 200 from about 30 last year. The program includes 75 hours of training, expert mentoring and a Capture the Flag competition.
