Han Seok-kyu returns to SKT ads after 28 years
Actor Han Seok-kyu (한석규) has returned to SK Telecom advertising for the first time in 28 years, reviving a line that drew attention in a 1998 campaign. SKT said it released a new ad timed to Samsung Electronics’ latest foldable smartphone launch, paying homage to its “Speed 011” commercial. The campaign also includes a mockumentary-style ad that flips the old tagline and highlights the Galaxy Z Fold8’s foldable feature.

Tencent shifts bets to China\'s AI leaders from DeepSeek to AI chips
Tencent is rapidly shifting its investment focus from traditional internet companies to Chinese artificial intelligence firms, investing across large language model startups, AI chips and general-purpose AI agents. It sold part of its stake in Kuaishou but joined a $3 billion funding round for Kuaishou’s Kling AI service. Tencent has backed Moonshot AI and DeepSeek, and has invested in Manus operator Butterfly Effect. It also holds stakes in Zhipu AI, MiniMax, Enflame Technology and Lightelligence.

China regulators block Meta\'s acquisition of Manus, order deal termination
Chinese regulators have moved to block Meta\'s acquisition of AI agent startup Manus, with foreign media reporting authorities ordered the deal treated as if it never happened. An organisation under the National Development and Reform Commission said it would ban a foreign company from acquiring the Manus project under relevant laws, without naming Meta or giving reasons. Meta announced the deal in December, and the Wall Street Journal reported it was worth more than $2 billion.
